Wetland photo’s: Black Crow Kinda Day

Hubby and I went to the Wetlands near our house in Melbourne, FL today to enjoy the beautiful Sunday weather and spy some pretty birds.

Here are a few of the beauties that graced us with their presence. Stay tuned for an encouraging thought before you leave.

As I took photo’s, it got me thinking. I always want to see white ibis, white pelicans, blue herons, sandhill cranes, hawks or if it’s an exceptional day – maybe we’ll spot an eagle. Yes, I’m greedy when it comes to birds. I love them. Seeing a unique species is thrilling. We are blessed to live in birding paradise.

Today was a pretty good day as you can see. We also saw a roseate spoonbill fly by, one lone white pelican floating on water and a sweet little hawk stealthily spotting lunch.

I’m always on the lookout for pretty birds.

But what if all the day brings are common birds – maybe a bluejay, cardinal, dove or crows?

Crow

What if today is just an ordinary … do all the same stuff, black crow kinda day?

Truth is, most days are like that.

But even the black bird feathers have a luxurious, glossy sheen in the glow of sunlight.

So whether you’re having a snowy egret day … or a black crow kind of day, I pray that you enjoy it. I pray that you will pause and see it for what it is – a uniquely beautiful day that although the same as many before it, is yours. Carpe diem!

Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth” (Genesis 1:26 NKJV).
